- Dave Davis New Jersey's "Best kept Secret" has built a following for house music lovers for over two decades. Musical influences such as Tony Humphries, Timmy Regisford, "little" Louie Vega, Larry Levan, Kenny Carpenter, Merlin Bob and Shep Pettibone shaped his unique style. A self taught DJ, Dave got his start in local night clubs and venues in 1982. He has made guest appearances at some of the Tri-States hottest clubs including Club Zanzibar (NJ), Club Cheetah (NJ), Club 88 (NJ), Scandals (NJ), China Club (NY), Filter 14 (NY)and many more to name. In 1992 radio personality/producer Andre "Dre" Young (98.3 WNMS FM) heard one of his mix tapes at "Movin Records"(New Jersey's most influential soulful dance music store of the 80's & 90's)and immediately became hooked on his deep soulful vibe, track selection and seamless mixing. Soon after, Dave became the resident dj for the "Club Mix Show" & "The mix @ six" from 1992-1994. In 1998 he teamed up with long time friend DJ Hot Rod, who was the resident DJ at club "Bogies" in East Orange, New Jersey bringing his underground sound to a night club known for commercial dance music, and was up for the challenge of converting many R&B & Hip Hop enthusiasts to soulful dance music. DJ Dave Davis & DJ Hot Rod shared the residency until 1999. Later in July,1999 under Dave's production company and the promotion of Shelton Hayes,(Club Zanzibar) they produced a venue called "THE BIGGEST PARTY OF THE SUMMER" at the Coliseum Night Club in Jersey City, New Jersey. It was hosted by Carolyn Byrd and featured artists Kenny Bobien, Kimara Lovelace and of course, Dave spinning on the wheels. Dave began hosting his own Internet radio mixshow called "The Underground Groovement Party" in 2003 and can be heard on blogtalkradio.com every Sunday @ 4pm EST.. Dave was featured as "DJ of the month"(February 2004) on Disco Style.com, which showcases DJ's from all over the world.
